A Day Exploring The City of Luxembourg
Luxembourg City is built on a Fortress.
When we were in Europe last summer of 2019, we decided to do a side trip from Brussels to this beautiful balcony in Europe.
Luxembourg is bordered by Belgium on the west. France on the south, and Germany on the northeast and east.

We took the train from Brussels to Luxembourg because this is the most easiest and convenient way for us.
There are frequent services to take you to Luxembourg from Belgium.
The distance between Brussels and Luxembourg is about 200 km and it will only take around 2 hours and 40 minutes.

The Grand Ducal Palace
The Grand Ducal Palace is situated in Old Town.
The palace is the city residence of the Grand Ducal family including the Duke, Duchess, and their children.
The Grand Ducal Palace is a stunning building in the middle of the city.
The streets of the City are closed off to vehicles so that you can enjoy a stroll through the many shops and Café’s around.
Can you go inside the Grand Ducal Palace?
You aren’t able to enter on your own. If you want to get in, you can join a guided tour from July until the end of August.
You can see what it is like to live in a palace and feel the grandeur.
The guided tour takes visitors through the official reception rooms among other places of the palace.
The tours take place on the hour every day from 9 am to 5 pm, except for Wednesdays where tours begin at 12pm.

The Notre Dame Cathedral
The Notre Dame Cathedral was built by the Jesuits to serve as a church to their college during the old days and now it serves as National Library.
If you are in the area, the Notre Dame Cathedral is located on the main road.
Opening hours: From 08:00 am to 18:00
Guided tour: Every Saturday at 11.30 am, without reservation
Luxembourg is a place that I would definitely recommend visiting if you are in the neighboring countries. It is among the safest countries in the world.
It is very manageable to visit where you can walk around the city – you can reach almost every little corner you want to visit.
