10 Universal Studios Rides and Attractions You Shouldn't Miss in Orlando, Florida
Getting inside the Universal Studios can often be overwhelming at times as there’s so much to do, so much to see, and so many factors to consider.
Whether you’re seeking an adrenaline rush or kid-friendly fun, here’s a breakdown of rides and attractions at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida.
1. Revenge of the Mummy
This is one of my favorite Universal Studios rides. It’s a unique dark thrill ride that will wrap you with fear!
The revenge of the mummy is a combination of a slow and a high-speed roller coaster ride in the dark.
There is a 48″ height requirement for this ride. Click here for age requirement details.
2. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
This ride rocks you straight up 167 feet before it throws you to a BIG drop then into the loop.
It was really a pretty cool ride! Each seat is designed with built-in audio where you can pick your own soundtrack during the ride.
Riders must be between 51 and 79 inches tall to ride.
3. Harry Potter & the Escape from Gringotts
It’s a roller coaster ride without any big drop or inversion. The Harry Potter & the Escape from Gringotts is a multi-dimensional 3D track-based motion ride.
This ride will take you to the key scene from Harry Potter but from an entirely new amazing perspective. It will bring you from scene to scene in a fun and thrilling way.
The height requirement is 42 inches (107 centimeters).
4. Hogwarts Express in Orlando Universal Studios
This isn’t a typical train ride. You will experience the thrill of walking through Platform 9 ¾. Passengers aboard the Hogwarts Express will encounter sitting in a cabin compartment just like Harry and his friends rode in the Harry movie scene.
Onboard, you’ll see characters, creatures, and British countryside from the train window before arriving at your destination.
With a Park-to-Park admission ticket, you can take the Hogwarts Express either from King’s Cross Station in London at Orlando Universal Studios to Hogsmeade Station in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
There is no height requirement. Requires a park-to-park theme-park ticket to ride.
5. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
Once you board the thrilling roller coaster motorbike ride, you’ll plunge deeper into the Forbidden Forest and travel the ruins behind Hagrid’s hut!
You don’t get to walk in the hut, but the queue sends you past it so you can take a photo while waiting to take your exciting motorbike with an adjacent sidecar.
The coaster moves forward and backward and speeds up at times to over 50 mph and has one big surprise near the end.
Requirement Minimum Height 48” (121.9 cm)
6. Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls
The Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls is a combination of a roller coaster and water flume. This ride blends the fun of the classic cartoons with a 75-foot drop and you’ll get soaked with the fun water splash!
It’s worth considering either wearing a plastic poncho or saving this ride as your last ride of the day.
Must be at least 44 inches (112cm). Children between 44″-48″ (112cm- 122cm) must be accompanied by a supervising companion.
7. Skull Island - Reign of Kong
With my several visits to Universal Studios, Kong is always on my bucket list. This journey will take you to the dark hub of the jungle. Passengers literally don’t know where they’re going as they head out into the island.
Predators and dinosaurs attack your vehicle from all sides and send your vehicle sweeping over a cliff. You will then be up-close and personal with Kong.
Must be at least 36″ (91cm). Children between 36″–48″ (91cm-122cm) must be accompanied by a supervising companion.
8. E.T. Adventure
The ride is based on the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The E.T. Adventure is a flying-bicycle dark ride that is very similar to Peter Pan’s Flight at Magic Kingdom.
It’s a slow-moving ride with no drops or turns. It is designed for the whole family.
The height requirement is 34 inches.
9. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
The Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is a motion simulator ride.
It will take you to join Gru, his daughter, and the yellow minions on an unpredictable ride. You’ll visit Gru’s house and are then ushered into his lab, where you’re turned into a Minion. The ride ends with a disco dance party that you join as you exit.
Must be at least 40 inches (102cm). Children between 40″-48″ (102cm- 122cm) must be accompanied by a supervising companion.
10. The Simpsons Ride
The Simpsons Ride is a motion roller coaster simulator ride. You will join the Simpsons family – with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie in an over-the-top non-stop fun and exciting adventure.
Must be at least 40 inches (102cm). Children between 40″-48″ (102cm-122cm) must be accompanied by a supervising companion.
